As a company, we got off the ground doing roofing over four decades ago in 1981. It began one summer when my father, Robert (Pete) Shiner, decided that with the help of my brother Peter and I, we'd roof our own house.
Then, my father, being the kind soul he was and always volunteering, decided to help our neighbor John install a roof on his house. And that started Shiner Roofing in McLean, VA. By the end of that summer, my brother and I, along with some friends, installed ten roofs.
The rest, as they say, is history.
I learned from my father to treat your home like gold. It's where your family is, where holiday gatherings are held, and memories are made. A high-quality roof installed correctly is the key to keeping your home (or business) safe and dry. He also taught me how to work hard.
Above all, he taught me to be honest. Our entire team practices this belief. When a mistake is made, or a detail is missed, we own it and make it right. No corners are cut. Nothing is shoved under the rug.
